Public and
private managers of complex organizations often face serious problems, even crises
caused by ethics lapses within their organizations. Ethics
Management International (EMI) offers guidance and consulting to identify and mitigate
circumstances and conditions that can result in organizational stress when
members of the organization are ethically challenged. Sound ethics management
can prevent crisis conditions from arising and resolve a crisis once it has
taken hold.
Our Mission
To build organizations of integrity . . . prudent organizational leaders are
prepared to invest in sound ethics management practices.

His new book
"Ethics Moments in Government: Cases and Controversies"
was published in September 2009 by Taylor & Francis Group. Terry L.
Cooper says, "This volume, conceived from the perspective of ethics
practitioners in government rather than a scholar’s theoretical preoccupations,
truly provides a “one stop package for training, learning, and teaching.” James
H. Svara adds, ".
. . a marvelous addition to the resources on ethics in government. Thoughtful
and engaging in style, the book draws the reader into a serious examination of
what it means to be ethically competent. The wide ranging case studies are
grounded in reality and supported by insightful assessments by scholars and
officials. The table of contents can be
found HERE.
His book
Ethics Management for Public
Administrators: Building Organizations of Integrity (M.E. Sharpe, Inc.)
was published in 2007. This practical, how-to book is
dedicated to building organizations of integrity. It has been written for
college students contemplating careers in public service, elected and appointed
officials, administrators, and career public servants in America and abroad.
Professor Henry D. Kass with the Hatfield School
of Government at Portland State University has used the book. Here is what he
says about it: "Just a note to say how much I liked your ethics text Ethics
Management for Public Managers. I am teaching Administrative Ethics and
Values for our Executive Leadership Institute at the Hatfield School of
Government PSU. The folks in class are senior people with a very low tolerance
for BS. Your text really avoids this problem with a down to earth yet thoughtful
treatment of the issues. I particularly liked the concrete examples and the
survey of actual practices of ethics management at all levels of government."
